Ducati Rider Andrea Dovizioso believes he now has the speed in race trim to fight with his rivals after some improvements made during the course of the day on Saturday.
However, the Italian Rider believes the Argentine MotoGP race on Sunday at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit can’t be easily predicted given the unknown elements of the Circuit, which will host its first World Championship racing on Sunday.
“This morning we had a big problem and our drop in pace was two seconds after four laps on the same tyre but I’m really happy about the work of the team because we improved our situation a lot in FP4 and qualifying,” he explained.
“Now we’re able to keep a similar lap time to our competitors and that’s so important. I was able to make a good time in qualifying and I’m happy to start on the second row.”
Looking forward to Sunday’s 120.15km, 25-lap contest the Italian stated, “I think it could be an unusual race because the consumption is strange but I think our target should be top five. Having said that in Austin we were aiming for sixth and we were on the podium so anything is possible!
