Dutch rider Danny de Boer will head to the UK’s Donington Park this evening as a last-minute stand-in for the Pata Yamaha Official STK1000 Team. Frenchman Lucas Mahias was expected to race in round four of the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup this weekend, however, final medical checks this afternoon confirmed he was unable to participate due to his ongoing injury sustained at Imola one-month-ago.
De Boer has raced in the STK1000 Championship on 17 occasions since 2007, including a wildcard appearance for Yamaha at this year’s Prosecco Doc round, in Assen, last month. The 26-year-old has just one previous visit to the 4,023m Derby circuit under his belt,from a distant 2008, but is looking forward to the new challenge and joining Niccoló Canepa on the YZF-R1M
