Despite a stunning form that saw Alex Lowes cruise to a fourth position in Free Practice to secure an automatic qualification into Superpole 2 on Saturday, the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team rider unfortunately will be forced to miss his home Round at Donington Park after the Brit was declared unfit to race. After FP1 Lowes was initially given permission to ride on Friday but yet again after a review of the effects from the injury to his collarbone, sustained on track in Race 2 in Sepang, it was revealed that it would proved too much for Lowes and he will not be able to take part in further track action at Donington.

Pata Yamaha will be hoping that both Lowes and his teammate Sylvain Guintoli, who suffered a highside crash in Imola and is also sidelined, will be back on track for Round 8 at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli from 17th-19th June.

Rookie and replacement rider for Sylvain Guintoli, Cameron Beaubier is now saddled with the sole responsibility of pushing towards earning The All-New Yamaha YZF-R1 it’s first Victory after securing an automatic progression to WorldSBK Superpole 2.
