MAVERICK VINALES SETS THE PACE IN AUSTRIA MOTOGP

As MotoGP lights went off for all riders, teams and Manufacturers in the All New Austria Spielberg RedBull track for the Nero Giardini Motorrad Grand Prix von Osterrich, Ecstar Suzuki’s Maverick Vinales rose to set the pace and lead the first Free Practice Session 

Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) and Yonny Hernandez (PULL&BEAR Aspar Team) closed out the top 5, with the two men at the top of the championship Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) and Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) ending the session P6 and P7.

Fellow frontrunner Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) finished the session in P22 after a crash at Turn 9 came with no warning and the Spaniard elected to remain in the garage until the end of the session. Further crashers included Eugene Laverty (PULL&BEAR Aspar Team) and Stefan Bradl (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini), with all riders unhurt.
