Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Bradley Smith will be replaced by Pata Yamaha WorldSBK rider Alex Lowes going into the MotoGP race at Silverstone on Sunday after the Tech3 Yamaha rider was confirmed unfit thus, having to pull out of his home race, the OCTO BRITISH GRAND PRIX at Silverstone and the GRAN PREMIO TIM DI SAN MARINO E DELLA RIVIERA RIMINI at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Bradley Smith crashed and injured his tigh in a free practice of the Oschersleben 8Hours endurance race in German in the FIM Endurance World Championship last Weekend.Bradley later underwent surgery on the laceration sustained and will now have to miss two Races in the MotoGP World Championship series to fully recover with his fellow Brit and Suzuka8Hours Winner Alex Lowes stepping in for his compatriot in the Monster Energy Tech3 Yamaha garage.Alex Lowes is a PATA Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team rider. Thanks to the Season Break in the WorldSBK, Lowes has had a chance to first test the Tech3 Yamaha M1 recently at Brno after the Czeck Republic Grand Prix and now a chance to feature in two MotoGP races before the WorldSBK finally resumes for the second half of the Season.Alex Lowes will now partner his Suzuka8Hours winning team mate Pol Espargaro aboard the Tech3 M1 and joins his twin brother Sam Lowes who rides the Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 Bike will be delighted to welcome him to MotoGP
